"I first learned of the GWD last summer at the Sacred Dance Guild Festival when I met Marylee Hardenbergh, one of the events organizers. Marylee was very interested in having Egypt join and asked me to choreograph a piece and organize the event. It felt like a wonderful opportunity for Egypt to participate in a global event as well as bring awareness to water issues, which are a big problem in Egypt.
The choreographing part was easy. The Dance came in for me in a vision fully formed during our revolution. As a teacher of sacred dance I work with energy or the inner world more than being an ‘environmentalist’ or working with the external world, therefore I was not really clear at first what my role in this event was. After the earthquake, tsunami and reactor meltdown in Japan the waters around Japan became polluted with yet another substance, one that is not easily corrected, radioactivity. I then understood the significance of this Dance. It is about healing water on the energetic/quantum level, the new pollutant we are facing. The Dance was the prayer that I did in March for the waters of Japan. And now each time I do the Dance I do it with the intention of healing the waters on this planet.
I believe that doing this Dance as a community on June 25th will add even more healing power to the intention. And given the events in Japan it is clear that we need to add energetic ‘cleaning’ to our long list of water issues. I look forward to doing this dance with our community as well as sharing it with others in the future. Leslie Zehr, March 2011

Nun ﻥ (pronounced ‘noon’) is the primordial waters in the ancient Egyptian creation story. This Dance is a moving Mandala, like a drop of water initiated from the centre moving outward. The focus of this Dance is on waters unique energetic properties, and healing water on the energetic or quantum level.
The Dance it’s self is the story of creation the pulse, the word, the breath inspiring and creating all. Then we move from creation to destruction the circle of life. Life increases to its highest density and then collapses in on itself like a black hole, death. But the pulse is infinite, the cycle continues and life begins again, from breath, the pulse increase. The universe explodes into existence there is an implosion of coherence, the new seeds are planted and life is reborn anew out of the primordial waters, once again life is created but at a higher frequency.
