Dance as a Spiritual Practice is taught by Leslie Zehr, Sacred Dance instructor from Egypt and author of The Alchemy of Dance: Sacred Dance as a Path to the Universal Dancer, designed to introduce the student to the elements of sacred dance and how it can be used as a spiritual practice.Through her book and classes, Leslie has taught hundreds of women the art of Sacred Dance.
The workshop is a balance of theory and practice. There is explanation with movement exercises to reinforce your experiences. This workshop is an opportunity to experience Dance as a moving meditation with no expectations about what it looks like, only what it feels like from the inside. You need not be a dancer or have any previous dance experience.
The practices are simple and fun, bringing the element of joy to your spiritual practice. You will leave the workshop with a very simple 20-minute movement practice that can be done daily.
